i met dan in 2001.he was a med student at the university of wisconsin,
doing a labor and delivery rotation at meriter hospital.
i was a nurse on the L&D floor.
he caught my eye......perhaps i caught his.
we spent a few weeks doing a bit of flirting
and maybe a little chatting.
on the last day of his rotation, i had decided
that as soon as he came in, i would ask him out.
he didn't come to the floor.
i panicked, and after leaving the hospital,
persuaded my (very, very, very) good friend missy
to go back, and hunt him down, and
give him my number.....yelling to her that
"THAT GUY IS MY HUSBAND!"
the rest is history.
what i knew in my heart in 2001,
i know to be true today.
the love of my life,
my better half,
my one and only.
six years down,
the rest of our lives to go.
